Irnham Hall Wedding
Fun Wedding near Grantham
Hari & Carmen decided to wed at the incredible Irnham Hall this past June. Irnham Hall in Grantham is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding with a newly built pavilion in their grounds when the weather is playing ball. The venue has so many backdrops for portraits which you will notice when looking through the blog. Having so many outdoor areas is an absolute dream for a relaxed, natural light wedding photographer looking to capture lots of fun moments throughout the day.
I can’t forget the Sri Lankan drummers who walked Hari into the ceremony and welcomed the newlyweds to their reception. Nor the Scottish bagpiper who walked Carmen & her father down the aisle. Having personal touches like this really transformed this wedding, especially when the bagpiper made a noise during the “Does anyone have any lawful reasons why these two persons can’t marry today?”.
The family members came together the days working up to the wedding to help the couple’s design and ideas come to life. Having so many creative and talented wedding suppliers on board with this wedding was super; the cake looked phenomenal, the flowers were so creative and unique, and the hair and makeup team did a fab job ensuring Carmen’s updo didn’t come tumbling done when she enjoyed some time on the bouncy castle.
I can’t write a blog about Hari and Carmens’ day without mentioning the dress; what a dress. Designed by Lauren at The Wedding Rooms Peterborough. Carmen looked incredible in her unique design, and it stood out of the crowd for the entire day.
Carmen’s brother was on hand throughout the day as the time MC , and he also created an incredible gameshow activity for all of the wedding guests to take part. Activities included egg and spoon races (which the bridal party became moving obstacles) and finding mystery objects. What a fun wedding to capture!
Golden hour was magical on Carmen and Haris’ wedding day, we waited patiently for the sun to go down ever so slightly before leading the couple through fields of long grass. I absolutely love capturing wedding golden hours, such a special light to be able to spend time and capture some memories with. It is also the perfect opportunity to practise the first dance (if it hasn’t already taken place!), it calms the nerves to have an intimate dance first!
“We only have wonderful things to say about Lucie. We booked Lucie as we wanted a laid back outside wedding and her photos suited our style. We were certainly not disappointed. From the engagement shot in east London to the wedding day, we loved the photos Lucie captured. Lucie made us both feel very relaxed. On the wedding day she fitted in with the crowd and we didn’t notice her snapping away in the background. Lucie is super organised and a great communicator, which was fantastic on the run up to the wedding! To our complete surprise Lucie had our wedding photos ready a few weeks after the wedding and we recieved a beautiful surprise gift shortly after which included our personal USB. I honestly don’t know of a wedding photographer who turns wedding photos around so quickly and beautiful (especially in peak season)! Lucie, you are so lovely and your photos are beautiful. Thank you for capturing our day so beautifully, your photos tell such a beautiful story.” – Carmen, Google Reviews.
