Relaxed, Candid Wedding Photography at a Greek Island

A Stylish Greek wedding filled with natural moments

This wedding is up there with as one of my all time favourites.

I have worked at Ktima, Lindos, Rhodes wedding venue regularly over the past 3 years – every single year since we got married! We have really fond memories of working at Ktima and this wedding was no exception. Kat and Johnny were clear on their vision; Stylish Wedding photography whilst capturing candidly and naturally.

Wedding Portraits in Greece

The venue thankfully has some shade from the blazing 4pm sunlight which really helps for balanced light for group portraits. The beautiful shoreline in the distance and the Ktima chapel frame photos perfectly. It’s important to get some lovely posed moments where nothing is out of place with some gentle guidance and prompts but also capturing the in-between moments of the couple as you will see below. Kat and Johnny also loved black and white photography, so I ensured to provide lots also in Black and white for their final wedding gallery.

The Ceremony at Ashridge House

The aisle at Ktima is particularly breathtaking with the views of the ocean as well as the hills behind.

Golden hour light

One of my favourite parts of working at Ktima is the golden hour light and the view of sunset. The sun sets perfectly in between the hills to capture a beautiful glow in my couple portraits. K + J quickly popped up from their seats for a matter of moments to capture these portraits – it was so worth getting up for! Kat looks beautiful in a two piece from Halfpenny London.

Natural Moments before I do

As a relaxed, candid wedding photographer it’s important to capture all the in-between moments during bridal prep. I scan the room for the lighting and angle to ensure the photos are framed nicely whilst not interfering in the actual moments themselves. I absolutely adored Kat’s dad helping lift her dress whilst travelling over to the ceremony – such a special moment and exactly why I prefer to have two photographers on a wedding day (and share their transportation!) so I can stay with my brides and capture all the moments.

Candid Moments on a wedding day

Kat and Jonny’s energy on their wedding day was fantastic and really made the photography effortless – I just had to ensure I was in the right place at the right time. There were SO many natural moments – the dream for a wedding photographer.
