I love being a London Engagement Shoot Photographer; from capturing proposals in London to capturing pre wedding shoots with my current wedding couples. There are so many areas to explore depending on where you would like to explore.

London Engagement Shoot Tips
DON’T BE AFRAID TO DRESS UP
Long, flowy dresses and skirts look amazing on camera because they bring extra movement to the photos. Especially when juxtaposed with nature. Cute, shorter-length dresses photograph beautifully as well. Dresses and skirts tend to look most stunning on camera because they really flatter the female body.
CHOOSING COLOURS
When choosing colours for your outfits, I recommend selecting lighter tones and more muted shades. By avoiding ultra-bright, bold colours, it will help bring all the attention to your faces and let the eye focus on the way you feel about each other. The camera loves shades of soft pink and muted blues, mixed with sophisticated light neutrals like heather grey, creams, leather brown and white. That softer colour palette fits beautifully into almost all natural outdoor environments.
IT’S ALL ABOUT THE LOCATION
There are plenty of options in London; from the touristy areas of Westminster, to the cobbled streets of Covent Garden to the wonderful Kew Gardens. There are plenty of options for an engagement shoot in London. As a born and bred Londoner, I’m happy to find the perfect location to suit your wishes.
HAVE FUN
In my experience as a London Engagement Photographer, the best sessions include exploring an area and having fun. On a recent session in South London we came up with the perfect plan for two outfits and two different areas; it really was worth having some variety in the photographs.
QUICK TIPS
- Try co-ordinate your hair and make up trial with your shoot.
- Skip the spray tan.
- Show off your ring and nails (treat yourself to a manicure beforehand!)
Countryside Engagement Shoots
I love the countryside too, I have travelled across the UK for engagement shoots! From the Cliffs in Kent, to an estate in Cambridgeshire, to a proposal at the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland… the options are endless.
