Spring Alfresco Dining at South Farm

There are some venues that just feel like home the moment you arrive, and for me, South Farm in Cambridgeshire is exactly that. As a local wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to document love stories here in every season—golden summer afternoons, crisp winter mornings, and now, the soft romance of spring. If you’re searching for a South Farm wedding photographer, you’re in the right place—I know this place like the back of my camera.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at South Farm

South Farm has this rare ability to feel both relaxed and beautifully curated at the same time. The gardens are always evolving, the light is dreamy (honestly, a photographer’s dream), and there’s a warmth to the whole place that couples and guests instantly settle into.

I’ve photographed weddings here in summer, where the long evenings spill into laughter-filled garden receptions, and in winter, when the barns glow with candlelight and everything feels wonderfully intimate. Each season brings its own personality, and I’ve shared some of my favourite real weddings from both—full of genuine moments, happy tears, and those fleeting in-between glances that tell the real story.

A Spring Editorial to Fall in Love With

This spring, I had the joy of photographing a stunning alfresco dining setup at South Farm, and it was something truly special. Picture this: a beautifully styled outdoor table set amongst fresh blooms, soft spring light filtering through, and every detail thoughtfully chosen.

The florals by The Stable Blooms were full of life—delicate, romantic, and perfectly in tune with the season. The cake, created by One Part Love Bakery, was almost too pretty to cut (almost!). Stories Event Hire provided elegant furniture that tied everything together effortlessly, while Miss Carlyse & Co Events worked their magic on styling, creating a look that felt both refined and relaxed. The finishing touch? Gorgeous stationery by Eliza May Prints that added a personal, artistic flair.

It’s setups like this that remind me how much creativity goes into a wedding day—and how important it is to capture those details before the day sweeps you away.

4 Days New – Introducing Buttercup

And now, for possibly the sweetest highlight…

South Farm recently welcomed a new arrival: a tiny donkey named Buttercup. I had the absolute privilege of photographing her at just four days old (perks of being a local!), and I can confirm—she is every bit as adorable as you’re imagining.

There’s something so special about venues that continue to grow and evolve, and Buttercup feels like the perfect addition to the South Farm family. I have no doubt she’s going to become a firm favourite with couples and guests alike.

A Beautiful New Addition: The Apple Shed

And as if South Farm couldn’t get any more special… there’s a brand new space that has just opened this week—the Apple Shed.
This gorgeous new bridal suite is an absolute dream. Thoughtfully designed with that signature South Farm charm, it offers a calm, light-filled space for those quiet “before it all begins” moments. As a photographer, I’m always paying attention to where those morning preparations happen, and I can already tell you—the Apple Shed is going to photograph beautifully.
Soft natural light, characterful details, and plenty of room for you and your favourite people to get ready without feeling rushed or crowded—it’s such a welcome addition. It also creates even more opportunity for those relaxed, intimate images at the start of your day… the deep breaths, the laughter, the finishing touches.
