Askham Hall Wedding Photography

If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a wedding photographer, it’s that the weather will always do its own thing… and sometimes, it brings a little extra magic with it. This incredible wedding at Askham Hall on Easter Saturday 2026 was the perfect example.

Storm clouds, dramatic skies, a perfectly timed dry spell—and yes, even a double rainbow. If you’re searching for Askham Hall wedding photography, this day shows exactly why this venue is so special, whatever the weather decides to do.

A Lake District Wedding with a Wild Twist

Set in the heart of the Lake District, Askham Hall is already full of character—stone walls, beautiful gardens, and that slightly wild, romantic feel that makes it such a dream to photograph.

But on this particular Easter Saturday, the weather definitely wanted to make an entrance. Strong winds, heavy showers, and ever-changing skies rolled across the landscape throughout the day. It could have felt overwhelming… but instead, it added this incredible atmosphere to everything.

There’s something about a bit of wild weather that makes a wedding feel even more alive.

Why Askham Hall Works in Any Weather

Askham Hall is one of those venues that truly shines, whatever the conditions. The indoor spaces are full of warmth and character, perfect for cosy, intimate moments when the weather turns. And when the skies clear, even briefly, the grounds come alive in the most beautiful way.

For me, Askham Hall wedding photography is all about embracing what the day brings—working with the light, the landscape, and those unexpected moments that make your story unique.

The Ceremony at Wasing Park

There are 3 different options for ceremony locations at Wasing Park; this outdoor ceremony, the garden room ceremony and the chapel. I adored this summery outdoor ceremony designed beautifully by Sass Flower – my very own wedding florist.

Embracing the Moments In Between

One of the things I always say to my couples is that the in-between moments often become the most memorable—and this day proved it perfectly.

Right after the ceremony, we were gifted a dry spell (honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better). Guests spilled out into the grounds with drinks in hand, laughter carried through the gardens, and for a little while, everything felt calm and golden again.

We took that opportunity to head out for portraits, making the most of the fresh, rain-washed surroundings. The colours were richer, the air felt crisp, and the light had that soft, post-rain glow that photographers absolutely love.

Candid moments throughout the reception

My photography style is to capture as much as naturally as possible to allow my couples to truly relax and enjoy their day to the max.
