As an Elmore Court Wedding photographer, it is always a privilege to return to such a beautiful venue. The architecture, the gardens, the wisteria, the light the venue provides to create a beautiful setting for a slightly more editorial yet natural wedding photography.
Set in Gloucestershire (just on the edge of the Cotswolds), Elmore Court is the perfect location to host a weekend away with family and friends. My clients utilised the accommodation to host a two-day event just before Christmas.
I feel very lucky that I love capturing weddings across all seasons of the year, I love adapting to the weather and also to nature. December is a magical time to capture weddings with the added warmth from extra candles, the Fir tree scent filling the areas of venues as well as the beautiful 10 feet tall trees that often come complimentary. Come rain or shine, I work around the weather to make the best of photography on your wedding day – on days that have rain, I have also seen beautiful golden hours with rainbows (on multiple occasions!).
The Welcome Dinner in the Great Hall
Mimi and Mitch hosted an intimate dinner the night before the wedding for their closest family and friends in the main house at Elmore Court. The guests were welcomed to a cocktail hour in the house before dinner was served in the main hall; the Christmas tree framed the window perfectly and brought the room to life on the lead up to Christmas. Christmas crackers were placed on the tables as a little nod to the season too. As a Elmore Court wedding photographer this was the perfect start, I was able to understand the family dynamics right away in a smaller group which helped the next day to ensure I captured lots of the guests.

Prep at Elmore Court
Elmore Court has such interesting room designs which really assist in capturing both Bridal Prep and Groom prep well. I was able to capture Mitch in a wall panelled room followed by some groomsmen portraits in the Drawing Room as-well as outdoors. The neutral backdrop for bridal prep helped assist in such intimate moments as there was little to distract from the emotions in the room.
Mimi and Mitch wanted their wedding photography to truly represent their day, Elmore Court provides such a beautiful environment throughout which helps to capture naturally.

Ceremony in the Great Hall
Mimi and Mitch exchanged their personal vows in the Great Hall. The ceremony spot is idyllic with its heraldic stain-glassed windows adding character and the high ceilings bring in so much light even in cloudy December, which is the dream for a wedding photographer. A gospel choir sang beautifully throughout bringing lots of joy and cheer.
The Great Hall connects directly to the staircase leading the guests from the ceremony straight out in to a confetti throw – with this taking a matter of moments the guests weren’t made to stay in the cold too long.

Bridal Portraits in the gardens of Elmore Court
Following the ceremony, we captured relaxed bridal party portraits as Mimi strolled the tree lined paths with her bridesmaids. Dressed in a beautiful silhouette with flowing fabric, the bridesmaids were able to have some effortless, natural portraits. The veil and adjoining cape flowed through the breeze throughout the portraits.
The gravel paths, Cotswolds stone and evergreen trees added to the beautiful Wintry wedding day. The perfect location for Elmore Court Photography.

Candles, Champagne and Christmas sing-alongs
Following the drinks reception, the celebrations continued in the Gillyflower and an energetic strolling band entertained the guests by weaving through the tables – providing a surprise sing-a-long of the 12 days of Christmas. The band had everyone on their feet as was the perfect way to transition from the meal into the evening cocktail hour.

Elmore Court Film Wedding Photography
I love capturing on film as well as digital on a wedding day – the imperfections really show the movement, joy and love of a wedding day.
